yes the former was the perfect uplifting from the latter..
Bicycle thieves deals with the stealing of hero's bicycle which he thought that it would going to change his life..

pollathavan movie also rides on the same story ..but the director changed the cycle in to bike as per this scientific era.

just the screenplay was changed in to gangsters dom..
particularly, In bicycle thieves when the thief got caught red handed by the hero, he behaves like an innocent but in a inflamed way..
the same scene was uplifted in pollathavan too..


what to say more..
stealing the cycle is the plot..the director has developed the story before and
afterwards..so if we get the good plot then anyone can make movies....?
Verdict:
so see lot of world movies.......

This is the movie that juxtaposes the life of the so-called civilized and uncivilized people. The story revolves around the uncivilized Bushmen, Mr.Xi who lives happily in the Kalahari Desert until he gets one cool-drink bottle. He thought that the bottle was the gift from god. To him and the other Kalahari’s the bottle seems to be the most important thing in their life.
They, used to play with that bottle, started using it as an implement. But after sometimes, an unknown phenomena to them until-jealousy occurs, since everyone started possessing the bottle as their own.
So Xi thought it was an evil, and he wanted to throw it at the world’s end. So he started his journey towards the edge of the world. For the first time he sees the civilized people and the huge automobiles. Everything seems to be indifferent to him.
On the way he meets one researcher-Andrew and his girl friend-Kate and made friendship with them. Xi got arrested for killing the goat. Andrew thought that Xi would die in jail since he never seen walls in his life. So Andrew bailed him.
Meanwhile Xi saves Kate and other school children from a terrorist along with Andrew. Finally xi throws the bottle in to the coast.

Though the movie started like the documentary, at the end it symbolically tells that desire is the only cause of all problems.
